British Style Through the Ages

Sir Sway: This is a BBC documentary on British Style throughout the ages.  It's intriguing because it demonstrates how language has evolved into modern dialect.  I have also finally realized why parents and grandparents keep pictures of themselves wearing velvet suits, because yes, velvet suits were once COOL.  Sadly, part 4 and 5 have been taken off youtube, but the video still makes sense without them.

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

Sir Sway: After many weeks filled with frustrated downloading of fake leaks and little clips of Kanye's new CD, My Dark Beautiful Twisted Fantasy is finally here.  The first thing I noticed upon listening to the album is every song is flawlessly produced.  Mr. West lays down lines with the same passion as his first album College Dropout.  Songs feature talent from No I.D. and Mike Dean. Here are some songs I really liked, however they aren't my favourite only because each song on the album is equally incredible.

'Tis the Season

The Prestige:  This season is often difficult for parents, loved ones, and friends.  Finding gifts for someone adds stress to the season, which is essentially meant for sharing love and happiness.  This year our pals from karmaloop made a collection of different gift ideas to help with this season's stresses.  On the site you can choose between categories such as male or females, and they've also given the option to choose between different price ranges. Happy Holidays!

Elevators - Eyetique x Wiz

Sir Sway: Pittsburgh eyewear shop - Eyetique -  teamed up with Wiz Khalifa in dedication to his song Black and Yellow. These sunglasses, known as the Elevators, fit any sized head because of the squared angled sides.  The silver on the arms add balance to the huge lens frames making the glasses not too flashy.

New Era

Sir Sway: For New Era's 90th anniversary, they gave 90 students an opportunity to design a 59FIFTY canvas hat.  This competition helped in promoting creativity among people/students.

Canada Goose x October's Very Own

Sir Sway:  Canada Goose teamed up with Drake.  I actually had no clue Drake had a fashion line, but he does and I am very impressed.  Thankfully Drake is Canadian so this limited edition Jacket will be sold on Nomad's online site.

Derivation of The Prestige

Sir Sway: Many people have been asking how Mr. Mobile and I came across the name “The Prestige” and although the definition and the use of the word has been implemented to explain reputation and lavishness, we however, did not have that in mind when picking the name.  As you know, Mr. Mobile and I both love music and strongly feel that fashion is a progression and not simply just a historical trend.  The Prestige was a record company founded by Bob Weinstock that produced strictly Jazz musicians such as Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, Thelonious Monk, and John Coltrane.  Jazz, now known as America’s favourite music, was primarily shunned upon.  It was through the underground movement and the passion of individuals that made it the most prestigious/historically-filled music genre.  The Prestige was part of the biggest movement in society and now we believe that as more and more people are accepting the fashion industry, there is that same passion for self-expression and the craving for something different that’s driving it.
