My style originated through a love of music. Growing up with baby-boomer parents I was originally exposed to oldies. As I got older my collection of oldies expanded until it well exceeded my parents’. I was around the age of 13, when my hunger for new tunes led me to discover hip-hop and electro. It’s at this point that I began to notice fashion… It all started with rap. I’d see these music videos and think guys like Kanye and T.I. were the coolest thing since Bob Dylan. So naturally I emulated their look. This lasted a while until I realized I was 5’4” and white and had no business dressing like I was in a rap video. That chapter of my life was over, but I'd had my first taste of fashion and I wasn't going to give it up that easily. Next I kind of jumped from style to style: skater, geek sheik, hipster... Testing the waters of my various options. Eventually I came to the realization that I wasn't a template to be coloured in with the latest trends. And so, I made my own style. Music continued to influence the way I saw fashion. Justice’s D.A.N.C.E. video showed me some of the dopest graphic T’s I’ve ever seen. Today I'm always up on the latest fashions, while adding some of myself to every outfit. Whether I’m rocking a slim-fit pullover hoodie, or some designer sneakers, I’m always looking my best. Get ready for the Prestigious.
