Its interesting to see how the shoe has matured and changed and how something like the leathers used are so different today compared to 15 years ago.  The III's got famous because they were the first jordans to expose the air sole, designed by Tinker Hatfield.  The III's were also released in 1988 when Michael Jordan won MVP and completely destroyed the slam dunk competition.
